Analisis Fungsi, Kategori, Dan Peran Sintaksis Pada Kalimat Dalam Surat Kabar Jawa Pos

Abstract

Syntax is an important study in linguistics that focuses on the structure and relationships between elements in a sentence. This research aims to analyze the function, category, and role of syntax in the Jawa Pos newspaper article titled "Nataru, Prices of Basic Necessities Relatively Stable." The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques using literature study and the note-taking method. Analysis was conducted to identify syntactic functions (subject, predicate, object, complement, and adverbial), word categories (noun, verb, adjective, adverb, and others), as well as the role of each element in constructing sentence meaning. The research results show that this article is dominated by a structured subject-predicate sentence pattern, the use of roles and categories in sentences, as well as descriptions that function to provide clarity of information context. Variations in sentence patterns were also found, supporting the effectiveness of information presentation to the reader. The researchers hope that the study can contribute to linguistic studies, particularly in understanding the functions, roles, and categories within a sentence.
